Metabowerke GmbH - Power tools for professional users

Metabowerke GmbH manufactures hand-held power tools and semi-stationary and stationary woodworking machines. As one of the few full-range suppliers on the market, Metabo offers the right tools for all purposes: from wood and metal processing to fastening technology and gardening.

Marketing Factory managed more than 30 country websites and company sites as well as a specialized international portal presence based on TYPO3 for the customer Metabo. In addition to these websites, Metabowerke's online offer included more than 75 microsites on special topics and promotions.

Projects

2016

Implementation of the "Application Advisor" function

Marketing Factory has created a symbiosis of TYPO3 and mfc_commerce for the Metabo "Application Advisor" in order to enable a targeted search and output of results.

The function guides the user through a virtual sales and advisory meeting. On a result page, he then receives various options for dealing with the reported results, such as buying products in the online shop, finding a stationary source of supply or starting a direct consultation by e-mail.

2009

Design-Relaunch

All country presences, the international presences and the company presences were converted. The final step took place for over 50 online presences within 24 hours.

The design, which has existed since 2006, has undergone a modernizing "fine touch" and some new points have been added as part of the further development. The implementation was designed and implemented within the CMS TYPO3 in such a way that there was no more in-depth technical intervention and no need for major editorial revision measures.

2007

Relaunch of the Metabo intranet

In 2007, Marketing Factory took over the maintenance of the Metabo intranet, which is also based on TYPO3. The intranet has undergone a technical and graphic relaunch.

2005–2006

Metabo specialist trade portal

Marketing Factory has set up a separate area for the Metabo specialist trade. This specialist trade portal offers specialist dealers a number of special service functions and options for trading partners, such as the processing of orders via an online ordering platform.

2005

Newsletter connection

Implementation of an HTML newsletter via TYPO3 and an interface to the shipping system for regular shipping to different countries. Due to the number of subscribers, the respective HTML page from TYPO3 is transmitted to a professional newsletter distribution system (Lyris/Postillion), which carries out and organizes the final distribution.

The Metabo registration forms are also linked to this newsletter system.

2003–2004

Conversion of the product catalogue

For this purpose, the Metabo TYPO3 application in connection with an interface to Viamedici EPIM was extended by the product and data management of the TYPO3 Shop-Extension and TYPO3 commerce, which then also received an XML importer in addition to the existing CSV importer. Over 100,000 data records were managed via the new infrastructure.

This conversion made it possible for Metabo to implement its product-specific updates independently and without much additional effort in the future.

2003

Migration from static website to TYPO3

Conversion of all servers of the Metabo Group to the open source system TYPO as well as an implementation of a product-related spare parts search and a dealer search based on an external database.
