30 years of Marketing Factory – founded when the internet was still uncharted territory
On February 1, 1996, Marketing Factory was founded in a factory loft in Düsseldorf.
Back then, the internet was still uncharted territory for many companies. We distributed software on floppy disks so people could access the web "offline" and save on phone bills. We printed out entire websites for approval, as many companies didn't yet have internet-enabled computers.
Since then, the world has changed radically: We witnessed the birth of e-commerce, survived the bursting of the dot-com bubble, and experienced the rise of Google and Amazon. We were there when the first iPhone ushered in mobile internet, social media revolutionized communication, and the focus shifted from static online business cards to complex enterprise solutions. Today, we bridge the gap from those pioneering days to the integration of AI into our daily work.
In an industry known for its rapid pace, however, we have maintained one constant: consistency.
Many of our colleagues have been with us for over two decades.
The same is true for our client relationships, which have often grown across generations of technologies. This loyalty is our most valuable asset.
Today, we look back with deep gratitude. Our special thanks go to:
- All our past and present colleagues.
- All our clients who have trusted us since our days in the old village school or the old rope factory.
- All our long-standing partners and suppliers.
Without these people, we wouldn't be the agency we are today.
We don't know what the internet will look like in 30 years. But we look forward to shaping it together with you.
Here's to the next few years.
