Project overview

Marketing Factory executed a technical and visual relaunch of RHEINZINK's Corporate Site based on TYPO3 8 LTS.

The relaunch included the redesign of the overall page structure and content as well as the implementation of a completely new, target group based navigation structure for the target groups "architects & planners" , "specialists" , "retailer" and "builders & refurbishers".

Project details

To enable a quick and easy user navigation for the different target groups, Marketing Factory integrated a comprehensive search technology into the installation. By using Apache Solr, users are given the possibility to comfortably filter search results through a variety of specific filter facets. Those filter facets also came in handy during the creation of the download center and the presentation of the reference projects

The maintainance of the download center elements has been kept fairly simple for the editors: All they have to do is to create a new element in the defined section of the page tree in TYPO3's backend, choose the desired category / categories and finally: save and close. The new download element will then automatically be pushed to Solr and is publically available in the download-center after the next index run. The filter facets, which allow the end-users to specify their selection in the download-center, are made up of the categories deposited in the system as well as the ones previously chosen by the editor. To enable the download center, Solr's basic funtionalities have been extended through the usage of the extension solrfal

Additionally, the website enables the users to collect all of the desired documents (brochures, technical information, certificates etc.) in a download basket while surfing the website and download them later in a bundle.

A comprehensive craftsman and dealer locator with interactive Google Maps were also implemented to make the website experience complete.

Next steps

The umpcoming project phase includes the integration of the international website www.rheinzink.com into the already existing TYPO3 installation. Subsequently, all other country websites will follow.
